Amanda who?

Hello, I’m Amanda Newman! I’m full Filipino, and I was born on December 7th 1993 in San Diego. I live with my mom, dad, brother, and three dogs, and I am also the middle child in the family. My mom and I have a very close relationship; she has supported me at every dance performance, cheer performance, and shot put and discus event since I was four. My favorite food is pickles, and I enjoy eating them straight out of the jar. I took Tap and Jazz classes when I was four and I also started Polynesian dancing when I was six, but I stopped dancing when I started High School. I like going places that are fun and educational.(i.e science museum) My favorite colors are purple and blue. I like meeting new people, even though I usually forget their name the next day.

As a senior I plan to make my last year memorable. Being a four year OHS varsity cheerleader, I plan to make the squad as best as I possibly can. I also plan to improve in my newly found love, shot put and discus. Academic wise, my goal as a senior is to live my last year (with the free education) day by day. I learned over the years that my pessimistic mind ruins a lot of plans and makes me stress out over anything and everything. My personality varies depending on my environment. My parents taught me to behave myself whenever an adult is around, but once you get to know me better, I’m outgoing and I love to be silly and laugh.

My plan after High School is to go to a University out of state to learn how to be more independent. While in college I want to major in child development or anything that involves children. This has been my dream job since kindergarten, and even though other people try to make me change my dream job, I will always love being with the younger kids and making them happy.
