My name is Clarissa Crescini. I am Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, and Italian. I was born on August 12, 1994 in San Diego. After I was born, my family and I moved to Japan and Italy because of my dad's job in the Navy. So now, I am back in California, as a student of Olympian High School.
After high school, I hope on getting into UC Irvine with my fallback being San Diego State University. I plan on majoring in either Physics or Biochemistry, hoping to work in a research laboratory.
I can honestly say that English is not one of my best subjects a long with Social Science classes. I struggle with writing essays, and expressing my thoughts correctly when writing. I also struggle with history because its difficult for me to keep up with all the information that is linked together as one giant story. I would prefer doing math or science over a lot of other subjects because there is a process or method to it. It is something I can understand better without having to repetitively read until I understand what they are really saying. It is simply straight forward.
My goals this year are to get good grades, get accepted into college, retake my SAT's, find a job, improve in English and Social Science, form better study habits, and break the bad ones such as procrastination.
I have a lot of interests and hobbies that come and go. I did karate and jujitsu for about 5-6 years, but now I do it whenever I have time on my hands to do so. In tenth grade I started doing photography, and I continue doing it today. I enjoy doing candid photography because it is spontaneous and I love seeing the true emotion on the face of my subject rather than having a static pose and a generic smile. Playing video games are something that I have done a lot growing up, and I still play a lot today. One hobby or interest that is new to me is going shooting with my dad at the firing range. I found it interesting learning how guns worked and how powerful they really are. I found a liking to this sport because it requires a lot of focus, speed, and accuracy.
Personality wise, I am shy around groups and new people, but after getting to know people better, I start showing my real self, which you would probably find me to be pretty silly, geeky, and outgoing. Anyways, I hope to learn more about you guys, and I hope we end high school with an exciting year!
Procrastination is a tough habit to break; but, you're doing good so far. :)
