Rhetorical Device: Anastrophe

Anastrophe

Definition: Figure of speech in which a language's usual word order is inverted

Examples:
  • Smart you are: You are smart
  • Save you it can: Can you save it
  • Quickly we must go: We must go quickly
  • Big rock is: Rock is big
Anastrophe emphasizes the displaced word or phrase.
