Ch.4 Reflection
What I learned in this chapter was the part where the Haitian patients believed in a sorcery, a person who exercises supernatural powers through the aid of evil spirits. Which in this case the Haitian professionals, the doctors and nurses, blamed the minds of the patients for not getting cured because the patients refused to take their medication. The patients did this part because they didn't believe TB came from microbes but that it was sent from an enemy, a sorcery. And while this was happening Farmer felt intellectually torn that the patients had a belief in this.

I definitely agree on this, and it's fascinating and weird that Haitians would think this way. However, the environment they are in and lack of knowledge of medicine, I understand why they would think this way.
