agree or disagree?
In class we were gathering information to help ourselves agree or disagree with the assumption. Being more exposed to Kidder's assumption that "the only way to help in a situation is to make sacrifices.” made me understand more what “helping” really means in a global sense. Everyone can donate a penny or two here, and a couple of dollars there but that’s not Kidders point. The time spent trying to fix a situation may help in a small way, but that time may lead to new ideas and ways to view things. Like Farmer, spending everything you have and doing anything possible will make an impact. And even though it may be little to some, the outcome will be more rewarding in the long run.

I completely agree. We all have to do more than just donating 50 cents to a charity in order to make a difference.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Amanda. I completely agree. People need to think more about the cause then the cost.
